Session 1a: Interdisciplinary Methods & Transferable Skills

Chair person: Loïc Bertrand, ENS Paris-Saclay

Conservation science demands continuous innovation to deepen our understanding of cultural objects, evaluate the effects of materials and treatments, and monitor artworks in an evolving environment. This first session will showcase cutting-edge methods developed through doctoral and postdoctoral research projects spanning materials science, digital technologies, and the humanities. These approaches exemplify the interdisciplinary, transferable skills that define modern conservation science expertise and open new pathways for collaborative research.
