Major European projects including GoGreen, MOXY and GreenArt are pioneering innovative solutions for cultural heritage protection. These consortia have developed cutting-edge methods that meet conservators' evolving needs, with a particular focus on environmentally-friendly treatments and materials.
This workshop will explore multidisciplinary challenges and opportunities for young scientists from conservation science, material science, data science and the humanities.
The event will bring together early-career researchers to discuss three key themes: Interdisciplinary Methods & Transferable Skills, exploring how to bridge physical, chemical, mechanical, and digital approaches with humanities, social sciences, and historical perspectives; Opportunities in Career Development, navigating pathways in museums, research institutions, and private practice; and Today's Career Paths in Practice, featuring real-world insights from professionals in the field.
This inclusive event welcomes participants from across disciplines, whether with a background in the sciences, digital, humanities, or cultural heritage studies. The workshop is designed specifically for PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, and early-career scientists working at the intersection of conservation, heritage science, and related disciplines.
