Guidelines for speakers

Please note that the audience covers a wide range of scientific disciplines (conservation science, physics, chemistry, mathematics, conservation, and the humanities). We therefore recommend that you choose a presentation style that is accessible to as many people as possible.

Speakers in sessions 1a and 1b

We recommend that, following a very brief introduction to your research topic, you focus on one of the methods used in your work, regardless of your academic discipline. You should outline its principles, potential and limitations, and compare it with alternative approaches. You will present your own contributions to method development.

This is therefore not a usual conference presentation, where the focus is primarily on the results and their interpretation. Rather, it should be a discussion of your choice of methods, as if you were explaining the rationale behind the ‘Methods’ section of a paper presenting your results. We also expect the discussion following your presentation to focus on your methodology.

Speakers in the round tables of sessions 4 and 5

The moderator will give you the floor for a brief introduction lasting a few minutes, and will then facilitate the discussion among the participants. Attendees will be able to ask questions via the chat.
